Yes, it happens. Vault keypads are wired into the alarm panel, so a firmware update or power cycle can briefly trip the silent alarm.
The time-lock controllers and deposit-box panels are inside the vault, so that's where the work happens.
Systems can't go offline during business hours, so upgrades happen after closing.
Opening sealed equipment and connecting to diagnostic ports takes tools. It's standard issue.
